Sound Byte for voice or percussion
This is a combination of sonic analysis and creative work. The object is to investigate the properties of the chosen sounds. The process will lead to a better understanding of how the voice or percussion instrumental sounds are formed, and how digital processes might be successfully applied to them.
Create a 20-30-second sound byte based on vocal or percussion sounds, demonstrating how elements of vocal sound can be 'taken apart'. Use any digital processing tools available to you, such as filtering, transposition and stretching.
The word 'demonstrating' is important here. This is not so much a compositional piece as a technical exercise. However, the 'demonstration' is likely to be better understood if it makes musical sense too.
